The staff were amazing. They responded quickly to my questions through Booking.com, and the lounge was a fun, pleasant place to spend time. It’s a quaint little hotel, and our room with two 140 cm double beds was comfortable and about the size you’d expect by Western standards. There was also a pants presser for refreshing ironed trousers, though it isn’t a replacement for an iron, lol. I took two stars off because the first-floor air-conditioned lift waiting area was miserable to walk through, with smokers’ smoke collected there. A little of it also came into my bedroom through the toilet vent. I was glad there was an air purifier in the room, as it made things much more comfortable. If you’re not very sensitive to smoke and like a memory foam pillow on a very firm bed, I’d recommend it.

The room was a reasonable size for a couple in a semi-double, but I couldn’t adjust the air conditioner temperature. The bathroom was small, though it came with good amenities: pajamas, a hair dryer, face and hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The staff were friendly and professional, but reception is on the second floor. There’s only one elevator for the whole hotel, so I had to wait a while each time. Parking is limited to smaller cars under a certain height, so check with staff before choosing a rental car.

The room was clean and had everything I needed. The lobby had a nice cafe feel, with some retro gaming machines. There’s a small paid parking lot nearby, and we managed to get one of its last spots.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was free coffee in the lobby. Still, I wouldn’t stay here again. The room was tiny and old, and the air conditioning wouldn’t cool it down, so I couldn’t sleep. The pillows weren’t comfortable either. The elevator smelled of smoke, the hotel lacked amenities, and the poor soundproofing meant I could hear street noise. It’s walkable from Asahikawa station, but the walk is a bit of a distance, around 12 minutes.

It’s a really nice place, but it was dusty and the bathroom wasn’t very clean. The shower curtain had some strange colors on it.
