The house is in a quiet neighborhood among farmland, and I saw lots of foxes around. It’s a good base near biei, the zoo, and downtown, with Lawson about a three-minute walk away and McDonald a drive away. The locals were friendly and happy, and I’d stay again for the location away from tourists. It’s a traditional house with futons and tatami as well as Western-style bedrooms. The washer was a plus, and there were three detergent portions. I booked through booking.com, and the owner sent the key box code the day before. There’s a manual on the table with the house rules, WiFi, and accommodation details, so I didn’t need to interact with anyone else. If you need to smoke, round 1 is open 24/7, or you can go to aeon mall for its excellent food court and supermarket with premade food. It opens at 9 am.

Don’t come! This hotel isn’t operating anymore. We booked through Agoda and got scammed. Reply: We do understand. There was no email explaining how to get the key, and nobody was there in person to hand it over. The area was completely dark, with no lights.

There’s plenty of room for a family of four to sleep comfortably. It’s a good choice if you want to cook for yourself using Japanese ingredients.

We came as a large family during the summer holidays, and there were enough beds for everyone, so it was comfortable. The bath was roomy and clean, which the kids loved. It’s also conveniently close to Asahikawa Airport.
