Hotel REUS Ashoro

The room is on the small side, but it was clean and convenient. It's in a little town near the highway, with a good restaurant close by.

It was a handy place to stay in a quiet town, and the rates seemed fairly reasonable for business travelers or anyone on a budget. There’s plenty of parking, and the building and rooms were clean, with the necessary amenities. Of the hotels in Ashoro, this one seemed the newest and most modern. It's easy to spot because a large sign marks the family home of singer Chiharu Matsuyama.

I wanted to thank the head chef before leaving, but felt a little awkward calling him over. The care in the breakfast really moved me. Everything had a gentle taste, and the ingredients, salt level, and use of local cheese were so well balanced. Even the cherry tomatoes were sliced thoughtfully, and the meal felt carefully put together across fats, carbohydrates, and protein. I've stayed in many places, but the breakfast at "Reus" was something special. Thank you.

The buffet breakfast was tasty, with some dishes made from local ingredients. I especially want to return for the cheesecake. The rooms are a little small, but the hotel seems fairly new, and everything looked clean and well cared for.
