Toyoko Inn Hon Atsugi Station Minami

The staff were friendly and helpful, and sorted out any issues quickly. The rooms were spacious, nice, and very clean, though I thought the bed could have been smaller. The location is good and central, but you do hear some noise from the train line. Breakfast was okay, and the dining area was nice, though right next to reception.

Fantastic staff and great service. Unfortunately, the bed was rock hard and so uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep.

I went mainly to get out of the house and have some quiet time by myself, even though the festival and fireworks had been canceled. The hotel is close to the train station, with convenience stores nearby. Parking is in a tall garage, costs ¥1000 per day, and you have to pay at the front desk when you arrive. The customer service was nice, but the staff barely spoke English. I emailed to let them know I don't speak Japanese, and they could manage enough English to get by. My non-smoking room was clean, on the second floor right in front of the elevator, though the next day I spotted something like a spiderweb on the ceiling. I brought my own bath and skincare things, but they provide those. I don't think they provide a body sponge for scrubbing. The bed was too hard for me, and I slept poorly. I could hear and feel the first-floor door sliding while I was in bed, since my room was right above the main entrance. I also didn't know there was free Wi-Fi. No one told me, and there was no information in the room. Breakfast is on the first floor from 6 to 9 a.m. I went down at 8 thinking it would be less crowded, but there were so many people and no dividers between the tables. I didn't want to risk eating there and getting COVID19. Luckily, I'd bought food the day before from nearby restaurants, so I ate the leftovers. I waited until after 9, when the area had cleared, to check out. I don't think I had a good experience..... 😕

Clean and secure, and guests can't just come in uninvited. There's also a beer vending machine, which is convenient.
