The owner’s wife was lovely too, and my wife had a good time. What made the evening special was how easily we connected with the owner. He plays drums and was in a professional band, which I was excited to learn on our first meeting. We ended up talking about our hobbies late into the night, and he was so friendly. It was our first visit, with my wife and dog, after finding the place online. A unique, enjoyable stay.

The three hosts, including the white-bearded owner, made us feel right at home. Dinner was a lot of fun, and we probably drank together for more than three hours, laughing and reminiscing about old times. My friend had just got out of the bath and wanted to go drinking with the owner again, but I stopped him since it was already getting late. I like a drink too, though I would have preferred fewer carbs and a couple of small dishes to go with them. The udon and seasoned rice were filling, and because it was cold up in the mountains, dinner was home-style cooking rather than a barbecue. I came through a nationwide travel support program and could really unwind outdoors with my two dogs. The owner had handmade everything at the inn, even the bath. It was impressive. There were signs asking guests not to flush feces and to take diapers and toilet sheets home. That surprised me at a dog-friendly inn, though I could see how garbage disposal might be difficult so far out in the mountains. As other reviews say, people may feel differently about the place. For me, the hospitality and warm, homey atmosphere were wonderful.

The bugs were the hardest part. There were around 20 in the room, and when the stink bugs were crushed, the smell was awful. I know bugs can be unavoidable, but it was still rough. The TV also didn't work, probably because of poor reception. We had a family bath and could relax in it just the two of us. The food was tasty and there was plenty of it. I usually enjoy campsites and cottages, and we picked Mountain Dome for our wedding anniversary. The outdoor atmosphere was just right for us, and I'd like to come back with my parents and nephew. There was an extra pet fee, but I couldn't see what pet-specific service it covered. We had to take the pet sheets home, and I wish the inn would have disposed of them if it charged an additional fee. It may not be the best choice if you're looking for pet services.

The airsoft area is kept in good shape, which I appreciate. I came here for the food, though I do wish the location were easier to reach.

I couldn't sleep after someone shouted around 11 PM, “Put your dog in the car!” We were staying there because it was pet-friendly, and our dog wasn't barking for no reason. It would bark at footsteps or when strangers came by, which is normal. The meal didn't match the menu on the website. We got chopped cucumbers, saury that smelled fishy, and corn. Things like flowing noodles and roast lamb seem to be available only by reservation. The facilities were poor too: no air conditioning, bad ventilation, and no blankets or insect repellent, so bring your own. There were lots of bugs in the bath, and I got bitten in several places. Employees stayed in the lodge and walked around with cigarettes in their mouths. They even made breakfast while smoking. There were adult pictures all over, which I think could be a bad influence on children. I've never had to be this on guard during a hotel stay. It was hard to tell who was a guest. It wasn't cheap, and I'd recommend staying somewhere else. I would never go back.
