The owners, a lovely couple, welcomed us like homestay guests after our visit to Hakuba Ski resort. This feels more like a comfortable Bed and Breakfast than a guest house. The classic Japanese exterior contrasts with the newly renovated modern rooms inside. Wood throughout and a wood stove make the place feel warm. I especially liked the tasty breakfast and shared living room, where I nearly lost track of time over coffee and views of the garden. It's ideal for tourists wanting nature and country life, and kids will enjoy the garden. There are many local soba restaurants, a wasabi farm, and other Azumino attractions nearby. A car would be handy.

The owner is very friendly, and the rooms are really clean. The kitchen, bathroom, and barbecue equipment are all well equipped. I'd highly recommend it to foreign visitors as well as local guests.

The photos give you a sense of the place, but being there was even better than I’d imagined. The owner was so welcoming, and I’d definitely come back. An acquaintance recommended it to me. We stayed one night, three of us, and there was so much room that it almost felt like too much for such a small group. I wished we’d booked longer. Next time I’d bring family or friends and stay at least two nights. I had a truly lovely time. Thank you!

Everything has a consistent, calming feel, from the wooden furniture and tatami beds to the lovely wood stove and hammocks. The owners were so warm and hospitable. I’m already looking forward to visiting Azumino again and staying here. Thank you!

The whole building can be rented, and there’s plenty of room for up to 10 people to stay comfortably. I loved the location, the roomy kitchen and living room, and the atmosphere throughout the rooms and bedrooms. A wonderful guesthouse. I’ll definitely stay again.
