Hotaka Town Hotel

The whole place stinks, especially around the front desk. They really should ban smoking. Can't think of anything good to say about it.

Hotaka Town Hotel has a feel of its own, quite different from big chain hotels. It may not be new, but it felt like a place that cares about Azumino Hotaka and wants visitors to come back. That's just my impression, anyway. I was able to relax at my own pace, enjoyed the amazing view, and found the staff friendly. It gave me a countryside feel, in a good way, and a sense of Azumino. 😚 From what I understand, a local opened what was Azumino Hotaka's first full-fledged business hotel. I recommend it to friends and colleagues in the industry who stay in Azumino. Just keep in mind that it isn't a hot spring, so if you're looking specifically for an inn or guesthouse/pension with Nakabusa Onsen water, that's a different matter. 😅 I'm rooting for Hotaka Town Hotel❗️

I was in the area to photograph swans in Azumino and trains on the Oito Line, and I'd stay here again when I'm in Hotaka. The building and facilities are like a regular business hotel, but the staff were attentive and the atmosphere was warm. Breakfast was standard Japanese food, and it tasted good. I was told the rice and vegetables came from the fields behind the hotel. Thanks for your help.

The hotel isn't new, but it's clean and the front desk staff were very polite. I stayed the night before hiking through Panorama Ginza. Hotaka's free parking lot is under a 10-minute walk away, with a convenience store and Yoshinoya on the route. If you make use of those, this is a good option for hiking in the Tsurugidake area.
