SUPER HOTEL Beppu Ekimae

I liked the clean, fresh room, the view from the window, and the fact that there was no musty smell. The third-floor onsen is separated for men and women. The staff were polite, friendly, and helpful, and guests can pick up amenities for free in the lobby. There's a free drinks bar from 3 to 9 p.m. After 6 p.m., you can also have complimentary alcoholic drinks without a limit, so don't miss that. The location is handy too, just a few minutes from Beppu main station and an easy walk to several convenience stores.

The location is convenient, the staff are friendly and helpful, and breakfast is great. I booked directly through the hotel's website and got a competitive rate with no prepayment, then paid at the hotel when I checked in. I'm not sure how some people ended up paying much more, perhaps they booked through a third party. I can't comment on the public hot spring bath because tattoos aren't allowed. If they open it to people with tattoos in the future, as many Beppu hot springs do, I'd definitely return.

We paid 24,000 yen for one night and were really disappointed. The room and toilet were small, and there was only one very hard pillow. When I went to the second floor to ask for another, none were available, so I had a bad night's sleep. The hot spring was just average and didn't have ice water inside. Breakfast was average too. I don't think the hotel was worth that price.

Breakfast had a great range of options, and the hotel felt like good value. The location is really convenient, close to everything. Parking is available around the back for 500 yen per night.
