Yutorelo Beppu

The breakfast is strongly recommended. The room was wonderful, the staff were kind, and the lobby was nice. For the amenities, the price is good. It’s a little way from Beppu Station, though not too far from several of the hells. Totally worth staying here!

There’s free parking, and the place is clean and comfortable. Drinks and sake are available free-flowing all day until 9:30 pm, with beer from 7 to 9:30 pm. The staff were very attentive from check-in through mealtimes. A great place to stay.

Such a lovely place!

I was worried at check-in that the room and semi-open-air bath might be small, or that the food wouldn’t be enough. I ended up being very satisfied with the whole hotel. The deluxe twin room came with a local bamboo basket set meal, with dinner and breakfast included. The staff were polite, kind, and pleasant. The hotel was clean and smelled nice, and felt comfortable without being stuffy. There was plenty of room to leave my large suitcase open without it getting in the way. The shower-room tub was big enough to stretch my legs out, and there was shampoo, conditioner, body soap, cleansing oil, lotion, and emulsion. The semi-open-air bath was deep and spacious enough to relax in alone, and the spring water was excellent. There was also a raised tatami area for sitting outside the bed, plus a kettle. Dining seats were assigned, so things went smoothly. The food looked beautiful and tasted great, and some dinner dishes were served when it suited me. The self-serve buffet had rice, soup, several pickles, and simmered fish. Even we big eaters were full. Breakfast came with a Japanese set meal, curry, and two kinds of vinegar drinks, which was very satisfying. You can choose your yukata. In the lounge there’s an all-you-can-drink server for ice, barley shochu, coffee, cocoa, and apple juice until 10 pm. Vending machines are on the first floor and the second floor, where our room was. There’s also a machine on the first floor selling milk and coffee-flavored milk on the way back from the large public bath. My only complaint is that I’d have liked two or three more kinds of juice on the lounge server. Still, the stay felt worth more than the price, and I’d definitely come back. The location was great, so I highly recommend it.
