Free laundry, free parking, a good location, and a good price were the upsides. The room was old but clean. The washroom was small and smelled bad, and the toilet needs fixing. I stayed for three days, but they never cleaned my room.

The price is pretty good, but staff are only available at limited times. I wish there were electronic keys, since sharing a room makes it difficult to go out alone.

I'm still here and love the room. It's small but cozy, on the sea side, and I can see the fireworks from it.

I was in the area for one night in June, visiting home. Naha was my main destination, but I needed to stop in Chatan for a bit. It was my first time in Hamakawa, and I was surprised to find the ocean so close. The hotel is right in front of it, and I was really impressed. If you want to enjoy the dramatic ocean views and the sound of the waves, rather than just go swimming, I highly recommend it. The staff were very helpful, and the place seemed well maintained in both the shared areas and private rooms. Even the single rooms had a fridge, washer, and dryer, which was convenient. Shampoo was provided in the room, with several other brands available to borrow for free beside the front desk. I’m not picky, so I used the one in my room. Washer and dryer use was included in the room fee, and detergent was free too. At low tide, you can go down to the beach, which was great for quickly washing and drying clothes. I was drenched in sweat after walking from Naha, so after checking in I quickly washed and dried my clothes while taking a bath. Then I put them back on and enjoyed the beach in the evening. The nearest supermarket is San-A, about a five-minute walk back up the road. If you have time, I recommend shopping there before checking out. Though a five-minute walk means you can easily pop over whenever you feel like it. It was a very satisfying night. Thank you!
