Hotel Sunset Terrace

Restaurants are about a 5-15 minute walk away. The place is right by the ocean, in an area with a lot of US military family housing.

The location was great, and I really liked being able to rent a bike. The bed was comfortable and the TV was huge. What stood out most was the service, the best I experienced during my time in Japan. The staff made everything feel welcoming and relaxed, and there were so many thoughtful, handy details around the place. I loved everything about my stay.

The rooms are roomy, with a good view, and it was quiet both inside and outside the hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially the young woman with glasses at reception. She was very sweet and always did her best to help with whatever I needed. There are rental bikes at an affordable price, and they have lots of extras if your room is missing something, like another table, chair or iron. The hotel is close to the seawall walkway and about a 30-minute walk from American Village. I've stayed here twice now, both times for three weeks, and would definitely book again!

The clean towels all had a mildew smell, which was my main complaint. I also had trouble getting the shower temperature right, probably user error. The washer/dryer in my room came in handy, though its buttons were all in Japanese and I struggled with that. The room on the fifth floor was clean and nice, and the front desk staff were always VERY helpful. It's close to local beaches, food and bars.
