So delicious, that's why it gets five stars. 4-28-19

The food made such an impression that I'm already looking forward to booking another course, especially to try the seasonal local ingredients. Even without expensive ingredients, the meal was a delight. The tableware was beautiful, with so much care in the details. We came to celebrate a birthday and chose the chef's special course with drink pairings. I'd watched "Grand Maison Paris" in January, so that was part of why we requested it. The quiet back area made for a really relaxing visit. The owner's wife's communication before dinner was as thorough as the service on the day. The entrance isn't directly on the street, so it might be easy to miss if you're visiting for the first time. We took our time over ingredients we don't often get to eat, including caviar, foie gras, and Chateaubriand, along with carefully made consommé and warm bread. Before I knew it, nearly three hours had gone by. It really flies when the food and service are this good. The three lovely amuse-bouches were hot croquettes, a layered tart, and Jerusalem artichoke potage. They were delicious with the lemonade we requested. I'd definitely like to come again soon and try different courses. Thank you!

This French restaurant feels like a hidden spot in a secluded house, tucked into a residential area where you wouldn't expect to find it. Inside, it has the feel of a little art museum. The food looked beautiful and tasted great, and I especially liked the two kinds of bread the chef baked. The weekday-only lunch course was ¥4,200. It included red paprika mousse with colorful edible flowers, Corn Bleu, and a choice of today's fresh fish with asparagus and shellfish risotto, topped with crispy sea bream and threadfin scallops, or Aso wild pork fillet with roast sauce. The fillet was moist and tender. Dessert was a choice of American cherry jubilee or clafoutis, followed by white tea. Alan Millia red grape juice was ¥1,210.

The lemongrass-flavored sea bream sauté and porcini mushroom soup were my favorites, though everything was delicious. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday, and both the food and the staff were fantastic. Since it's a small restaurant with the kitchen close by, the dishes arrive freshly prepared. They have alcohol pairing sets, so you can enjoy one even if you're not an expert. The average budget seemed a little over ¥10,000, and I thought it was excellent value. I'm glad we found this lovely place in Yachiyodai. It seems to be fully booked, but I'd like to come back for anniversaries and other special occasions.

My girlfriend can't eat meat or shrimp, so we got in touch before her birthday dinner. They kindly adjusted her dishes. Their thoughtfulness came through in everything, from the calls and emails to the service in person. Every dish was incredibly delicious and impressive. We'd definitely come back if we get the chance.
