The desk staff were friendly, the restaurant was excellent, and the location was perfect for Makuhari Messe. The hotel also provided a shuttle, which was useful. But our stay was uncomfortable. We don’t smoke and were given a smoking room; because the hotel was fully booked, we couldn’t switch. The bed was so hard that the floor might have been more comfortable, and I kept waking up from the smoke smell and the bed. There were a couple of hairs on the bathroom floor, and the room overall didn’t feel very clean. Choose this place if convenience and a good dinner matter more to you than comfort. If you want a good night’s sleep and can manage a less convenient location, I’d look elsewhere.

The price was reasonable, and there are free morning bus rides. The convention center is about 12 minutes away, but the hotel sits beside a main highway that can get pretty noisy.

The best part for me was the traditional Japanese breakfast. The two women working there urged me to try different things, and the food was hearty. My Japanese is rusty, but we managed a conversation and a heartfelt thank you. The front desk man was kind, though he didn’t speak English. I booked as part of a concert bundle. The room was decent, but the bathroom was awkward to move around in. They lend you a yukata, and the bath felt especially relaxing after the train ride from central Tokyo. There’s also a shuttle to Makuhari Messe that takes about 10 minutes.

An inexpensive place to sleep for events at Makuhari Messe. The free morning shuttle goes to the Messe and the station, and there’s a konbini nearby. It’s not a convenient area for walking around, but it works well if you mainly need a bed.
