Pension Best Friend

The pension staff were so friendly, especially the husband. He kept us entertained during meals, and the kids had fun with fireworks and trumpet lessons. We made wonderful summer memories together, and I’d definitely like to stay again. We’d asked ahead for a birthday cake, and they celebrated with us. It was homemade and delicious. The rest of the food was delicious too, and there was plenty of it. Even our picky kids ate a surprising amount.

The toddler playroom was a big hit with the kids, and the owner is very talkative and helpful. The food tasted great, though it came out in small courses and my child got a little bored waiting between portions. We were there during Golden Week when the hotel was full, and the Wi-Fi was too weak to be much use, so keep that in mind.

We had a lot of fun in the loft bedroom, and the owner’s kids played with us. They’re very welcoming to children. The kids were pleased with their meals too. They weren’t the usual kids’ plates, but smaller versions of the adult course. The view of Mt. Yatsugatake from both the terrace and bath was amazing!

After dinner, anyone who wants to join gathers in the dining room for drinks and lively conversation. That homey atmosphere is what keeps bringing us back each year when we visit Kurumayama Ski Resort. We’re very happy with the tasty food, the several baths that work well for families, and the range of room choices. They also sell discounted lift tickets just for guests, so it’s worth checking on those before booking.
