Piece Chitose S1

I live in Japan, though I'm a foreigner. When I chose English on the check-in machine, it demanded a passport scan even though my Japanese address and phone number were already on the reservation. The check-in couldn't be completed without scanning it. But when I switched the start screen to Japanese, I could check in without a passport scan. I don't care how nice the rooms are. I won't stay again at a place that doesn't follow the rules set by the Japanese government. Foreign residents in Japan are not required to show their passports when checking in at hotels.

We booked several rooms, but now we're stuck outside the hotel and can't even get in. There's no one here to help, and payment seems impossible. They apparently hire someone from Tokyo, but a hotel really needs a person at the front desk.

The room setup was a nice surprise: the bed is separated from the sofa, table, and TV area, so you don't end up falling asleep while watching television. I was alone and booked the available twin room. Only one bed had been made, which was fine, and it was soft and very comfortable. The bathroom and toilet are separate, so there's no shower curtain in the bathroom. The ceiling is a little over 180 cm high, though, and the shower head is around 175 cm, so taller guests may find it awkward. This feels better suited to arriving by car than walking from Chitose Station, which takes about 20 minutes. I'm not sure how many rooms there are, but the parking lot has just 11 spaces, so you might not get one. Check-in and checkout are both unmanned. For winter, the heat comes from a gas stove rather than an air conditioner, and it warmed the room much more. There's also a closet, shoe cabinet, washing machine, and microwave, which should make a longer stay comfortable.

The neighborhood has bars all around it. I stayed in a 1LDK apartment, and it had all the appliances and cooking gear, so one night felt too short. I'd happily stay longer. There's no staff at check-in, but that was fine as long as nothing went wrong.
