We had plenty of room, and the service was great. Dinner was the real highlight, absolutely exceptional.

I picked this place for our yearly trip with my partner's parents, trying to stay within the budget my partner set while finding food everyone could manage with our dietary restrictions. Since my parents are from the countryside and grew up in the Showa era, they felt bad leaving food behind, so I went for a fairly luxurious meal they hadn't tried before, hoping everyone could eat the leftovers and we wouldn't need any outside food. Mom and Dad seemed to enjoy the dinner course, and the hot spring water in the bath also seemed to suit them. Breakfast came as individual servings rather than a buffet, which felt considerate since we didn't have to think about other guests. It was tasty, and I was very satisfied. They served Akita Komachi rice. I was also the one choosing the room and driving us around. One thing to watch for: with snow on the ground, the roads get narrow and the entrances can be hard to spot.

The staff made this stay feel especially warm. Everyone was kind and polite, and my parents were so pleased they called it a wonderful trip. I really appreciated that. I chose the inn for its location, and the quiet surroundings were just what I wanted. It was peaceful inside too, a nice break from everyday noise. The building has some history, but it was spotlessly clean. The casual French dinner was satisfying overall. I especially liked the appetizers and main dishes, made thoughtfully with plenty of Akita ingredients. The sausage served partway through felt too casual for the rest of the meal, though, and was a bit disappointing. One concern was getting to the guest rooms. The corridors combine ramps and stairs and are quite dim. I was traveling with my elderly parents, so I worried they might trip. There are handrails, but having an all-ramp route would feel safer. With the location and the kind hospitality, I'd definitely like to come back. Thank you.

On this second visit, I was happy with the spacious room and the tasty food, served in just the right amount. The only letdown was the small open-air bath. I was still scared of bears, so I couldn't relax in it.
