Villa Dazaifu

The 9 pm cutoff for groups over nine was something I only learned after asking questions and running into problems from the reservation stage. They seem to assume guests will be noisy, which felt really unpleasant. They say BBQs are only for small groups because it's a residential area, though we don't even have BBQs, lol. If they're assuming a group of nine, they may turn away larger groups. Seriously, what the heck?

The rooms all have their own fun theme, and every corner was spotless. The place is surrounded by nature and feels so comfortable. Vanilla, the villa's mascot dog, is adorable and very calming. The owner is wonderfully attentive, and the hospitality is great. A lovely place to relax in Fukuoka, and they can accommodate people who don't like dogs too.

I spent 15 nights here on my 16-day trip, and I stay here whenever I visit Fukuoka. The owner and staff are always friendly and helpful. Getting around is easy by car, but without one you can take the train toward Hakata from Mizuki Station or Tofuromae Station. Ninjya, a yakitori restaurant near the hotel, is delicious. I also recommend Nagahama Ramen Kotaro and Hachan Ramen, which are a little farther away.

We were six adults with two dogs, staying for two nights and three days. Having two baths was a real plus, especially the open-air one. I'd definitely come back. I recommend this villa in every respect.
