HOTEL R9 The Yard Ebino

The container style room at Hotel R9 The Yard in Ebino was clean and comfortable, with its own bathroom, and the receptionists were kind at both check-in and checkout. The stay seemed headed for four or five stars until around 4am, when a terrible sewer odor came from the bathroom and filled the room. We opened the doors and windows and turned up the AC, but had to put up with it until morning. At checkout we calmly explained what happened and asked for compensation, or at least some acknowledgment. We were told to wait 15 minutes for the manager, which became nearly half an hour. When he came, he barely listened and immediately ruled out compensation because we had “used the service.” That was hard to understand when the service meant trying to sleep in a room full of sewer smell. He said we should have requested another room at 4am, which felt unreasonable and lacking in empathy. We asked several times for him to check the room. By the time he did, the odor had eased somewhat, and he brushed it off as faint. There was no apology, accountability, or goodwill gesture. The smell was bad, but the way it was handled is why I won’t return.

Great value, and the location works well. It’s clean too. I’ve stayed twice already and would come back.

The staff were helpful, and the hotel was quiet and clean. A very nice stay.

Decent places to stay were hard to find in Ebino City, so this affordable spot worked well. It felt like a business hotel, and my one-night stay was comfortable. The room was very clean, everyone on staff was friendly, and there was coffee as well as coin laundry for a fee.
