Ryokan Kisen

I’m transgender, so going to an onsen can be difficult for me. The staff were kind and helpful, though, and let me reserve a private bath. They made it a wonderful experience.

We had no complaints about our stay, even though the guest rooms are old. They were clean and arranged so we didn’t feel uncomfortable. The inn felt especially welcoming from the moment we arrived, with seasonal decorations that were beautifully put together. The garden had koi swimming in it, the water was good, and the flowers were well cared for. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Our group of 17 stayed from Sunday to Monday in March. The hotel isn’t new, but its ingenuity and cleanliness more than make up for that. It’s a great inn, and I highly recommend it. ＼(^o^)／

The room was beside the road, and the cars and people drinking and partying outside kept me awake for a while. Still, it wasn’t bad, and I even thought I might come back. The staff were cheerful and very attentive, which made the stay feel warm. You can walk through the garden, though the path to a separate building made me wonder whether I’d taken a wrong turn. The parking area has both gravel and asphalt sections. There’s a large public bath, an open-air one that looks like a heated swimming pool, and a separate footbath that isn’t hot. No sauna, but they provide basics like shampoo. The vending machines only take cash.

It was a pleasant day trip, and the receptionist and staff were very friendly. For 1,300 yen, the visit included a bath towel. The hot spring water felt fine to use for showering too. The open-air bath was small, but we enjoyed the garden around it, with its impressive rocks. After our baths, we could meet in the footbath, which saved the guy from having to wait around. They provided horse oil shampoo, conditioner, body soap and an all-in-one skin care product for afterward. The parking lot is diagonally across the road and spacious enough for our campervan, which was a big help.
