Isawa Tokiwa Hotel

The hotel is clean and well cared for, and the staff were helpful and well trained. We enjoyed the hot springs, and the food was good, though not fancy. The place is showing its age, especially the old unit baths in the rooms. There’s also a step between the floor and the room, which could be a serious problem for elderly people at night. I hope they’ll consider improving that. Taking good care of an old hotel is commendable, but a potential safety hazard is a separate concern. Even with these facility issues, I’d use this hotel again if I visit Isawa.

The hotel rooms are fairly standard for a Japanese ryokan, and the staff were friendly and professional. I enjoyed my visit. The architecture is beautiful, and the lobby and area around the baths feel relaxing and impressive. The baths themselves are lovely and worth a visit.

We expected the same service as at YUUMURA ONSEN TOKIWA HOTEL, but were disappointed. The hospitality wasn’t good, and it’s not worth staying here. We can’t stay at this hotel again. Thank you!

Dinner was a feast! Osewani narimashita . . . 🙇💖 The staff were so efficient and friendly, and the bath was well lit. Even when I was alone, I didn’t feel afraid to stay in for a long bath.
