AB Hotel Fuji

The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom had a bathtub and was fully equipped. Breakfast was provided, and there’s an onsen on the ground floor, though I didn’t get to try it. You need a password to enter the women’s onsen, or common bath. I’ve added photos of the view from my room. I stayed for two nights, and it was rainy and wet.

We booked this two-star hotel because it was close to the train station. It turned out to be quite new and spotlessly clean, and our room even had a bathtub, which was more than we expected. The breakfast was good, and free parking was a nice extra. Definitely worth the money.

The Fuji view was a real treat. My room was on the 6th floor, and when I woke up I could see the mountain through a window down the hall. There are also great photo spots outside, from the parking lots to the road nearby. This was my second stay in Fuji, and I’ve never been this close to the mountain. The location worked well for me: about a 10-minute walk from the bus station where I arrived, with a cheap, tasty Japanese restaurant next door and a Lawson across the street for anything else I needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. The person who checked me in spoke enough English that I didn’t need Google Translate for more complicated questions. The manager was kind too, and gave my fiancé and me cup noodles since we’re basically on our honeymoon. The hotel has an onsen, a simple single room but clean and relaxing after travel or exploring. Breakfast is a free buffet with a mix of American and Japanese food. The rooms were clean, as I’d expect in Japan, and wider than many business hotel rooms like APA. For the price, amenities, and location, this is easily one of the best hotels in Japan. I rate it 20 out of 5 stars, no exaggeration, and I WILL stay here next time I’m in Japan. I’m American and have visited Japan three times, for a total of three months, so that’s my perspective.

It’s easy to get to the hotel by bus, and it’s very clean. The breakfast is simple, and service is cordial without being over the top. The bath felt a little limited, with only five spots and no way to control how many people were using it, which matters with such a small space. I had a good stay and would come back if I’m in Fuji again.
