It’s a large, beautiful house, and sleeping on the tatami or futons should be comfortable if you’re used to them. The big drawback is the cold. The traditional paper and glass walls don’t insulate well, and the air conditioning and couple of hot air fans barely cope when it’s really cold. If you visit in winter, expect to wear lots of warm clothes inside.

It’s an okay place, with lots of space and authentic sliding doors, plus new bath fittings. There are only two regular beds, with the rest being floor beds. Insulation is minimal, though each room has air conditioning to help. They ask for donations if you use things like cooking utensils or towels. Sadly, there’s no view of Mt. Fuji.

A classic traditional Japanese house, well maintained, spacious, and very clean. There’s parking, and they provide plenty of towels, toothbrushes, and extra beds. It’s also close to Kawaguchiko, FujiQ, convenience stores, and more. Recommended. For Muslims, recite ayat qursi/yassin at night, thank me later.
