Club Wyndham Sundance Resort Kawaguchiko

The staff were the highlight for us. They were helpful in every way and clearly cared about our stay. One morning we were running late and worried about missing our transport, so they went out of their way to drop us at the bus stand. That hospitality made a real difference. Sundance Resort Kawaguchiko sits in a peaceful forest at the foothills of Mt. Fuji, away from the busier tourist spots. The place has an old, rustic character that brought to mind classic high-end hotels from the 1980s, yet it was impeccably maintained and spotlessly clean. A true hidden gem.

We stayed a week with RCI as a family of four. The location is almost perfect and very convenient, and the rooms are well equipped. Service was great too. There was just a little mold in the shower room.

There are sliding doors between the rooms, so they do very little to block sound if someone snores. The two-bedroom room is very spacious, with lots of living room space and a small sitting room behind one bedroom. It even has its own massage chair, instead of relying on the one in the common area downstairs.

We didn’t get to explore much, but the massage chairs and TV room were amazing and so relaxing. The resort itself is really nice and the rooms are spacious. Getting there from the main road felt a bit scary, with huge trees all around and no street lights. We had to use our phone torches. The nearest 7/11 is a 15-minute walk away.
