A big, clean room and friendly people. I'd definitely recommend it.
From both floors you can see Mount Fuji, and if you get up early, even Red Fuji. The first floor seems renovated and is spacious. Upstairs are two tatami rooms, so it may not suit you if Japanese-style futons aren't your thing. There are toilets on both floors, and the bathrooms have washers and dryers. The first-floor fridge has basic seasonings, and the kitchen has basic cooking tools. We got the key and entry code through Booking.com, so we didn't need to contact staff. The guesthouse sits off a side street on a dirt road, beside an irrigation ditch, so larger vehicles should go slowly. Parking is in front, and our three-row vehicle fit. Lawson's, a yakitori shop, and an izakaya are nearby, with more restaurants a bit farther out. There are lots of guesthouses around, so nearby restaurants can fill up. Booking ahead is a good idea. We didn't, and ended up having an all-you-can-eat dinner at Lawson's one night. Getting the car out of the parking space takes some skill, so turning around in the space first is a good idea. The exit has a slope that could scrape cars with low ground clearance. The dryer is also very loud, so it's not suitable to run in the evening.
Mount Fuji looks beautiful from here, but the dishes hadn't been washed, there was no toilet paper, and we didn't have enough towels...
I spent about two weeks here and had no trouble finding drinks or snacks, since a convenience store is very close. The Wi-Fi worked really well, too. From the big first-floor window I could see Mount Fuji. Being in Yamanashi Prefecture and seeing it every day was great!
We spent two days here with our son's family, whom we'd picked up from Kagoshima and stayed with in Saitama. The view over Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji was fantastic. It was a peaceful place to relax and recharge, especially with the quiet nights, and everyone was pleased with the stay. I'd particularly recommend it for families with young children.
