Toyoko Inn Nishitetsu Kurume-Eki Higashi-Guchi

There are several vending machines and self check-in at this chain hotel. My room was small, with a plastic, camper-van-style bathroom, but the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing: rice triangles with seaweed or shrimp eggs, plus juice and coffee machines. The listing mentioned a city view, but my room had no view.

The breakfast was awful. It was just Japanese rice balls and buns, with no butter, jam, soy sauce, or wasabi.

This is a clean, convenient hotel for a short trip. It's just one block from the train and bus terminal, where you'll find a grocery store and mall, along with a few small eateries on the second floor. The surrounding area felt clean and safe. Staff were nice and could communicate with us in English to a limited extent. The basic Japanese breakfast was good enough, and the lobby has an ice machine. Water pressure was great and there was plenty of hot water. We had a deluxe room with a small table and chair, but it was still tiny, with the bed taking up most of the space. More than a couple of days might feel cramped. For a basic, comfortable, clean hotel at a reasonable price, I'd recommend it for a short stay.

The double room was clean and spacious, and parking was convenient at 500 yen. The bathroom seemed clean, but it smelled unpleasant. We also got woken more than once by water running through the pipes, so the place was a bit noisy at night and could use renovation. Breakfast was complimentary, very simple, but fine. The breakfast staff and front desk team were kind and helpful.
