Fuji Lake Hotel

I was visiting Japan for the first time with my husband, and we had a wonderful stay at this resort. From the observation deck, we watched the sunrise reflected on Fuji-San, and our room had a beautiful lake view. The onsen was clean and relaxing, a lovely first experience for us, and we enjoyed both meals at the hotel as well as the self-serve bar. The property is somewhat dated, but that didn’t take away from our visit. The staff were especially welcoming and accommodating. When people talk about Japan’s high standard of hospitality, I think of this team.

The service made a real difference. Everyone was kind and welcoming, and Mr. Hiroshi and Ms. Vi deserve a special mention for making us feel at home. She even walked us to a great place to see the winter fireworks. Our room was comfortable and well kept, and the breakfast and dinner buffets had lots of delicious choices. We had a lovely time and would happily return. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

The room on the west wing was clean, spacious, and had a wonderful lake view. The buffet at breakfast and dinner offered plenty to choose from, and the staff were hospitable throughout our one-night visit. We’d love to come back. The hotel sits right on Lake Kawaguchiko, and autumn leaves around the exterior were beautiful during our visit. A rooftop observatory also gives you a view of Mt Fuji. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the station, convenience stores, the ropeway, and Oike park. We arrived before check-in by hotel shuttle from Kawaguchiko Station and left our bags. By the time our room was ready, staff had already brought the luggage up. A staff member showed us to the room, explained how to use the onsen, and offered amenities for it. We didn’t get a chance to bathe, but checked the area and found it very clean. The whole hotel felt calm. Reception had water, juice, tea, and snacks to enjoy with the view.

Both the dinner and breakfast buffet were very good, and I loved the onsen. Our room was comfortable, with a lovely view of the lake and a separate Fuji view from the Fuji viewing room. We arrived early and left our luggage, then found it had already been brought upstairs when the room was ready. To arrange the shuttle from Kawaguchiko station, go to the tourist information desk and show them your hotel booking so they can call. Very convenient! We’d love to visit again, especially for breakfast with that Fuji San view.
