Fuji-View Hotel

We couldn't see Mt Fuji because the weather didn't cooperate, though the hotel has viewing rooms on the 5th floor that would be great for seeing the mountain. Our room was excellent and, we were told, a little larger than usual. The restaurant deserves five stars for its delicious choices and excellent service. The hotel is a bit out of town. Its free shuttle meets the train, but you need to book it. There's also a local bus that stops by the hotel's lower gate, and we used it a couple of times during our three days and two nights. We paid a small fee to ride the bikes, though they felt a bit small for a Kiwi.

We spent ages looking for somewhere with a good view of Fugi, and this hotel turned out to be the spot. We were lucky enough to see Fugi twice, from our room and the breakfast room each morning. The room was gorgeous too. Just keep in mind that getting out for a run is difficult if you don't have a car.

We booked a Mt Fuji View room and got a clear mountain view under beautiful blue skies. It was great to enjoy it right from our room. The hotel can also provide a gluten free breakfast, and they have an allergens list for the food.

We only stayed one night and wished we'd booked more. The grounds were lovely to walk around, and the well-kept hotel itself was amazing. Our Mount Fuji view room was definitely worth booking. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and breakfast had lots of variety and tasted great. You can't really walk to the centre from here, so you'll need a vehicle, though their hourly shuttle runs from morning until evening and was very convenient. We'd gladly stay again.
