Haostay Kawaguchiko Art Museum.

Our room fit four of us comfortably, with two double beds, a seating area, and enough room to open three large suitcases. It's a newer, minimalist-style building with only two floors and around 20 rooms, but there is a lift. Raz at reception was friendly and explained everything we needed to know. The room doors use passwords, so there are no keys. There's no restaurant, but the first floor has a dining table and seating, plus a microwave, thermos, tea, coffee, and a water dispenser that guests can use all day. The laundry room has two washers, two dryers, detergent, and a large sink. Staff leave at 10 pm. If you need something overnight, there's a phone at reception to call someone who is supposed to be on standby. We didn't need to try it.

The room itself was a decent size, but the bathroom was so tiny you could barely move. It's also a fair walk from town, though there's a 7eleven nearby for a quick snack. I only stayed one night, and the hotel was okay.

For the price, this was great value. The room felt new and was clean, and in our double room we could open two suitcases. It was a quiet, cozy place in a central spot near lots of restaurants, with other places easy to reach by car. Oishi Park was only a six-minute drive away. You can't see Fuji from here, but we liked getting to Oishi Park at 7am, when it was empty and had very few tourists.

HAOSTAY was in a peaceful spot on the other side of the lake, just a two-minute walk from the konbini’s and other attractions. It felt much quieter than the main tourist areas around Mt Fuji, and there was parking for guests with cars. The room and bathroom were spacious, the whole place was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. We could keep two large suitcases open without trouble. The hotel also has a washing machine and dryer, which helped us a lot. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We'd definitely come back.
