I stayed one night and left with a lovely memory of the natural surroundings, fresh air, and peaceful scenery. The room was clean and comfortable, and the food was delicious. The owner and the woman working there welcomed me warmly and were both very kind.

I found this place while searching for somewhere near Lake Kawaguchi for sightseeing over the February long weekend. The reviews were great, so I booked. The stylish exterior and lovely rooms made a good first impression, and the private bath was spacious. Since it was available, I could use it in the morning too, which was very satisfying. The meals were a real highlight. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, among the top three meals I've had at hotels and inns. The coffee, tea, and sweets were tasty too, so I was extremely satisfied. The owner and the woman who served dinner were warm and wonderful. I appreciated how the owner checked in at each table to see how everyone was enjoying their meal. There are board games in the common area, and the one the owner recommended was really fun. I'd like to come back in spring or summer. Seasonal dishes would be great, and I'm looking forward to another visit.

Dinner was the highlight for me. The course had appetizers, soup, fish, steak, dessert, and tea, and both the amount and flavor left me very satisfied. The meat was a bit tough from being overcooked, though that might just be personal preference. I also used the private bath to warm up after getting soaked in the rain. You can reserve it by the hour, and while the tub is bigger than one at home, I did see other people's hair floating in it, which may bother some people. There was a shower in the room, too. I booked about three days ahead after choosing the Kawaguchiko area for a nearby Golden Week trip, since everywhere was crowded and expensive. A review had mentioned rides to a nearby bus stop, so I called to ask for one, and it was a big help in the rain. It's a nice, clean pension.

The room was comfortable and clean, though I missed having a refrigerator. I bought beer and couldn't chill it, so I had to drink it quickly. Downstairs, there was stylish music and a good selection of board games like Othello and chess, which seemed perfect for drinks and hanging out with friends. The shared bath is booked by writing your name on the whiteboard outside for a time slot, so with a lot of guests it could be hard to get one. The stainless steel tub is huge. I'm 178 cm, and I could stretch my legs out without touching the other end. We stayed Friday night, when only one other group was there, so we relaxed and used the bath without waiting. They told us Saturday was fully booked. The pension village is just a short walk from Lake Kawaguchi.
