The room was a little smaller than what I'm used to in Australia. One tip is to book twin share singles if you want two king single beds. The air-conditioning did a good job of both heating and cooling, unlike some hotels where it only heats or is controlled by the hotel. The breakfast selection was reasonable, though, like in nearly all Japanese breakfast rooms, the warmed food was mostly lukewarm at best. The hot pot selection was always at the right temperature. Staff were pleasant and polite. They didn't speak much English, but enough to get by, and Google Translate works for both sides. It's very close to JR Hakada station, an easy three-to-five-minute walk from outside. Starbucks is on the same side just before the hotel, and there's a 711 next to Tenza Hotel. Restaurants are everywhere. The large Japanese restaurant across the road, on the corner by the traffic signals, is absolutely brilliant. A lot of planned tours use the train network, so the transport is handy. The airport is close, and a taxi is the quickest option and cost effective.

We checked out the day before the hotel was renamed KOKO. Maybe because renovations were coming up, some things looked rather worn. I hope the renamed hotel will be better. It’s opposite Yodobashi, and if you go into the 7-Eleven behind Yodobashi, it leads straight to Hakata Station. The location is excellent, but there aren't other highlights. The price is reasonable.

It's an easy walk from Hakata Station. Just head out and cross the road, and you'll reach the hotel in no time. Look for the 7-11 and it's right next door. The rooms were clean and standard-sized. Highly recommended!

Breakfast had loads of choices and everything tasted top notch. The hotel worked really well for our family of four: our room was clean and roomy, check-in was easy, and the staff were lovely. There were good amenities, plus a big, spotless bathroom with a large tub and nice free extras in the lobby. Hakata station is right nearby. We'd happily stay again.

The deluxe room gave us plenty of space by Japanese standards, and the extra cost felt worth it for a family. There are self-serve ice and water, laundry machines with detergent available for a small charge, and a kids activity in the lobby. The hotel sits among restaurants and entertainment, just a short walk from Hakata station. There are more luxurious places, sure, but this mix of location and facilities makes it a strong pick for a small family. I'd book it again on another Fukuoka trip.
