Herb no Sato Cottage

The room and location were fine, and everything was very clean. I was quite satisfied with those parts of the stay last early summer. What spoiled it was the husband's attitude. While helping us get the BBQ fire started, he made several nasty comments. When I was having trouble fanning the flames, he said, “That's why people from Tokyo are like that...” It made no sense, and I wasn't even visiting from Tokyo. I found it extremely rude. I understand people were tense during the COVID-19 pandemic, but when I got excited and shouted “Whaaaaaat!” he put a finger to his lips and told me “Shhh!” It was just the two of them, and I couldn't help wondering what the point of my vacation was. I'm grateful to his wife for being considerate. Without her, I'd give the place one star. My husband and I both work in service, and when we go out we try not to be rude so staff can do their jobs comfortably. I'm leaving this comment in the hope others won't end up as disappointed as we were.

We come here every year. The location is quiet, with Lake Kawaguchi and a convenience store both an easy walk away. The owner is very kind and handles everything for the BBQ, including starting the fire. It's a great place for families and groups.

The room was roomy and very clean, and the location is convenient, with two convenience stores an easy walk away. There was a roof over the BBQ area, so we could still grill even though it rained. I used the place recently and would definitely come again.

We had a great time cooking together, with all the dishes and cooking utensils already provided. The room was very spacious and even had a second floor. The resident cat, Riru-kun, was incredibly cute.
