We ate at the on-site kitchen every night and loved the food, which was great value. The owners are lovely, and the spacious shared areas and rooms have an easygoing beach-house feel. There's a beautiful beach across the road. One practical note: coming by train or bus means a bit of a walk from the bus stop. It didn't bother us, though it might be inconvenient for someone else. If you're heading to Shimoda, this is a place I'd happily stay at again.

I spent four days here and had a fantastic time. The guesthouse has lovely owners, and the food they make is delicious. The beach nearby is stunning, just a three-minute walk away. Getting there by public transport takes some effort, including a walk through a tunnel. I'd suggest a taxi from Shimoda station instead, which was around 10 USD for me. Totally worth it.

Breakfast was fantastic, and they even let you take the basket outside for a picnic. The room had plenty of space to open two large suitcases for packing, plus a hot tub in the bathroom.

My favorite guesthouse in Shimoda. The owners are always so friendly and helpful, and the first-floor restaurant serves amazing food. They've got surfers covered too: outdoor showers, laundry, hoses for rinsing boards, and other useful gear. Come enjoy Shimoda!

You can rent beach gear here, and there are outdoor showers and laundry on site. The guesthouse restaurant can make room for vegetarians and vegans. It's only a three-minute walk to the beach and restaurants, and the staff were some of the friendliest I've met. I'll stay here again.
