The worst incident we've had on our travels so far. We were packing up to leave after an unsettling night, and as we got things into the car my partner noticed the man standing in the parking lot watching us. Earlier, he'd walked into our locked room without knocking, wearing just his boxers, and stayed for about ten minutes asking when we'd arrived. He only left after we asked him repeatedly. He should have knocked, and if he made a mistake, apologized and shut the door right away. Afterward he put on clothes and said it was his first time there, but something still felt off. We'd been told through booking that check-in had to happen before 9 pm. We arrived late but before that deadline, and no one was there to check us in or leave instructions for self check-in after staff left. Every room had a key in its door, and we couldn't work out which one was ours. We messaged the property and eventually got a reply. The room was basic but okay for a night. The pillow was uncomfortable, and the thin blanket wasn't big enough for a tall person. At 7 am we started hearing vacuuming around the place, which was odd, but we needed the rest.

For the price, the accommodation wasn't up to standard. The pillows were uncomfortable, the bedspreads didn't feel fresh, the shower was unpleasant, and the towels were tiny. There were no hangers, and the air conditioner had a stale filter. The management felt dishonest, and I was really upset by the place.

Communication with the Chinese owner was a problem, and I felt there was cheating and lying. The kitchen wasn't allowed, there was no parking and a police problem, and I paid a fine. The old lady was very distinguishing. I had to check out three hours early, so the money was totally wasted.

It was a really nice experience. The owners speak Chinese, so knowing some Chinese would be helpful. I don't know Chinese myself.
