This was my second stay, and it’s generally quiet and worth it. Ask for a Mt Fuji-view room if you can get one, the view waiting for you when you wake up is fantastic. It’s a business-like two-star hotel with basic amenities, but clean enough for a few days. I’m still not sure why booking a room is so hard when there seem to be many empty ones. Maybe they don’t open many rooms to tourists, as the name suggests, just a few here and there.

The room looked new and the bathtub was big for me, but the water heater wasn’t working well. It took a long time to get bathwater hot. The hotel is only three floors, with reception, vending machine, coin laundry, and guest rooms on the first floor, and more rooms on floors two and three. There’s no elevator. It’s a 10-minute walk from Kawaguchiko station, with a 7-Eleven close by. If you’re lucky, you’ll have a Mt Fuji view from your room.

On a clear day you can see Mt Fuji from the room and the hotel's public bath. The hotel is old, but I still had a pleasant stay. Rooms are clean and fairly big by Japanese standards. Breakfast isn’t available unless you booked it in advance. For the best Fuji view, walk about 10 minutes to the bridge. Go early, before clouds roll in around 9am. Sunrise is at 5.30am.

The bed wasn’t that comfortable, but for one night it was fine. It’s an old business hotel, with the usual Japanese hotel extras like free coffee, tea, and toothbrushes. I gave it five stars because the view from my room, 301, was worth what I paid. Great stay!

Quiet location, and if you get lucky, your room looks out at Mount Fuji. The hotel is very rundown, and there’s no breakfast option. Staff speak only Japanese.
