PICA Fujiyama

We had a really cozy two-night stay. The cottage was thoughtfully designed, warm, and had everything we needed. The staff were helpful and knew what they were doing. No complaints. If you're planning a campfire, though, it's better to buy wood elsewhere.

The friendly staff, decent meals, and Mt. Fuji view were the bright spots, but there were a lot of problems. I booked the Amazing dome, though it wasn't so amazing. Both the room and shared facilities were disappointing and unpleasant. The floor, beds, and comforters hadn't been cleaned properly. Wet wipes showed how dirty several things were, and I'd wipe the outdoor chairs before sitting on them too. The room stayed cold at night, and the comforters made me itchy, so I couldn't sleep. The shower room was okay, but the toilets weren't very clean. I can't justify paying that much for these facilities.

The view of Mt. Fuji was right there, peeking at you, and it's hard to beat. January was freezing, though, and the stay was a little pricey. Think of it as camping for beginners: you get your own gazebo-like space with a picnic table and bench, grill, prep table, and power outlet. The shared toilet and sink area was clean and easy to get to. Showers are separated by gender in the main building, which is warm and cozy. Definitely a memorable trip.

The view of Fuji-san is stunning, and the cottages feel welcoming for a family stay. They're nicely designed and comfortable. The terrace and fireplace made for a lovely dinner in the fresh mountain air. Dinner came with barbecue meat and vegetables, and the meat was good quality. Breakfast, though, was quite disappointing.
