Ichifujiso

The host was very gracious and had clearly prepared an explanation of how the lodging works, although she couldn't speak much English. After a long day walking, the giant bath was great. My street-facing room was a lovely 7 tatami mat size and could probably sleep 4-5 people, with a glimpse of the lake. The place is a 10-minute walk uphill from the main train station, but only 3 minutes from the red-line sightseeing bus stop, which you'll probably use if you're not driving. Lawson and a supermarket are five minutes away. There are some drawbacks: the three-story building has no elevator, toilets are shared on each floor, and the bath is only on the first floor. They only take cash, and there's no fridge in the room.

The hosts were a very sweet older couple, so kind and wonderful. This traditional Japanese house had great amenities, and everything about the stay was amazing. The ofuro was magnificent and absolutely worth trying. Thanks so much for everything!

We got back from Mt.Fuji quite late, but it was still such a comfortable place to stay. Everyone was lovely and kind, and they even drove us to the station. My favorite part was the breakfast, so good and healthy, and such a local meal.

The hosts made us feel so welcome. The rooms were clean, and the old house had that lovely smell of good food, a bit like being at your grandma’s.
