The view was the standout for me: Mt. Fuji was completely unobstructed, and it looked incredible in photos. The place was so quiet and peaceful that it felt like nobody was around, which made it easy to relax. My room was spotless, with no smoking, and the bed was comfy enough for a great night’s sleep. I’d definitely stay again.

The quiet setting made this feel like a proper retreat away from the busy areas, and the free shuttle came in handy on the steep uphill road. From the open-air bath in my room, the view of Mount Fuji was breathtaking. The room was clean, roomy, and comfortable, and the staff were kind, attentive, and happy to help. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and beautifully presented, with a lovely taste of Japanese cuisine. I had a wonderful stay at Kumonoue Fuji Hotel and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Kawaguchiko.

The Mt. Fuji view is a big reason I liked staying here. My room was large and fairly clean, with some traditional Japanese-style touches, and I enjoyed the onsen too. A good option if you’re looking for a place with a view of Mt. Fuji.

Fuji-san showed up on both mornings, which made sitting on the balcony with coffee and looking across the lake and mountains especially nice. The private bath with Mount Fuji views felt luxurious, and the beds and pillows were the softest and most comfortable. We stayed two nights and had a great time. The restaurant doesn’t offer choices, you’re served whatever they’re making that day. For us that meant a large Japanese hot pot at dinner, then rice and fish in the morning. It worked for my family, though I can see it not suiting everyone. The staff seemed a little awkward, but they were kind and clearly trying their best. I’ve seen people mention what seems to be a local dispute over trees behind the Google reviews. It’s hard to piece together the story, but I wouldn’t let it put you off. The hotel felt like a hidden gem, away from the crowded side of the lake where most other hotels are. Parking was free and always available, and the activities around the lake were a short drive or bike ride away.

The room had a great view and the area felt safe. It was spacious, with a huge bed, and the staff explained everything we needed to know. Since we were there for 3D2N, they said the toiletries provided would last two days. Even though we checked in very late, a staff member met us at the car park and helped with our luggage. Check-in was easy, and both staff members were polite. Ice was available at the lobby bar, and they brought up a handheld steamer promptly, even late at night. They also warned us about summer bugs and asked us to keep the doors closed when we weren’t using the private onsen on the balcony. The only drawback was finding the place at night. It’s up a narrow road with no signage, so it’s easy to miss when driving back.
