Pension Moon Light

The owners were very friendly, and the hot spring bath was clean, with a family-bath kind of feel. Tucked away in the mountains, the guesthouse serves food that seems to be made entirely by the owners. It wasn't all to my taste, but it was distinctive and clearly prepared with care. Best suited to people traveling by car.

We were very satisfied with the food, both its quality and the amount. The colorful course meal was lovely under the soft indirect lighting. The owner and his wife were modest and kind, which made the atmosphere feel relaxed. The building is a bit old and small, but every corner was immaculately clean. There’s tasteful antique decor, along with books, manga, and games like Uno and Jenga. Everything was clean and in good condition, so the kids stayed occupied and we felt comfortable.

The meals were the highlight of our anniversary trip. Both breakfast and dinner were incredibly tasty, and my husband kept talking about dinner even after we got back to our room. It was a full course, somewhere between home cooking and high-end restaurant food, with a heartwarming feel that showed the chef's passion. The meat was served rare, which may not suit everyone. The owners had wonderful smiles, and I’d love to visit again. The towels were fluffy, and the amenities, including makeup remover and lotion, were excellent. There are no pajamas or bathrobes, so bring your own loungewear. I did after reading other reviews, and it made the stay comfortable. Being in the forest means there are small insects, but we were able to borrow insect repellent. Thank you for a lovely time.

The owner was so nice and happy to help with our requests. The pension had a calm atmosphere, was clean, and served delicious food. I was especially impressed by how fluffy and odor-free the towels were. I'd stay again when I'm in the area. Thank you!
