Villa Ururun Kawaguchiko

We stayed in Villa B, an 80 sq.m. two-story place with a full, unobstructed Mount Fuji view from every room. The maple leaf tunnel is nearby, as is Momiji-Tei, a hoto restaurant that was absolutely delicious and easy to recommend. The living and dining space is upstairs, with a large wooden table, a cozy spot to relax, and a well-equipped kitchen: microwave, stove, rice cooker, toaster, cookware, dishes, and cutlery. There’s also a bathroom with a tub, and bath salts are provided. Downstairs are two bedrooms and one bathroom, plus a separate sink near the entrance. Our group of four had two futons set up in each room, and extra futons are available for up to six guests. You can borrow card games at reception. Shabu-shabu pots, electric stoves, and BBQ grills can also be rented for a small extra charge of 500 yen per item.

We visited in March and found the cottage a great deal. It’s especially convenient if you’re driving. The terrace had a breathtaking Mount Fuji view, and the place was clean and comfortable. The hostess was welcoming and very friendly. I’d stay here again on another visit to Kawaguchiko.

The residence was spacious and clean, with blazing-fast fiber Wi-Fi. The bath left a slight sulfur smell afterward, which I think may be from the heating. The location is easiest to reach by car, though taking the bus is possible if you don’t mind some walking. The owner was extremely nice, offered us a bike, and gave us a complimentary ride to the nearest station.

The accommodation was spacious and lovely, and we had a beautiful view from our partial-view room. Such a sweet host!
