Shuhokaku Kogetsu

The place is beautiful, and the women on staff were kind. But some guests ignored a clear no-drone sign and flew drones right over both the public and private onsens. I couldn’t believe it, and the staff didn’t seem very willing to confront them. The men who set up the futons after dinner were kind of rude. One barged in while we were still eating.

I’d had this hotel on my bucket list for a while, and finally got to stay. The view is breathtaking and the service is impeccable. The room felt a bit small for a family, and it would be even better if the food were a little more high-end.

My partner and I loved it. The view is amazing, but you can find views like that nearby too. What stood out most to us was the food and service. The dinner, served in our room by a lovely woman, was well prepared and the best meal of our two weeks in Japan so far. The tuna sashimi was the softest I’ve ever had. I’d definitely recommend it!

On my first two-night stay here, I was really impressed by the food, service, and location. We could see Mt. Fuji and the lake from both our room and the restaurant. The staff were attentive and did their best to make guests feel welcome.
