Guest House Face to Face

The location is close to the train, but there isn’t much around, and basic necessities meant walking to the other side of town. I also found the service poor: the host seemed unfriendly and unhelpful, no towels were provided, and there were five separate bins for different rubbish. Shared facilities were limited, with many rooms relying on just one toilet and one bathroom that also had the washing machine. I was concerned about security too, since there was no lock or key for the main gate, entrance door, or room door. There were plenty of other things to complain about.

When I fell outside and asked whether they had medicine, the owner treated my wound for free and gave me a bandage, medicine, and ice. That kindness really stayed with me. Both owners were so friendly, and the room was comfortable. The price was affordable too. I still think this is one of the best guesthouses for service in Japan, and I highly recommend staying here.

The place itself was wonderful, and the owners were incredibly warm. Even though we arrived late, they sat and chatted with us for a long time and brought us coffee. In the morning they drove us to the waterfalls, waited while we walked around and took photos, then took us to a hiking area with a view of Mt. Fuji so we could catch a bus back. They even stopped at 7-11 to get us breakfast. Some of the kindest hostel owners ever. HIGHLY recommend!

From the moment we arrived, the couple welcomed us with smiles and such a good mood. The house was clean, and the whole stay went smoothly. They even gave us a lift to a nearby lake. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If I lived in Japan, I'd stay here.
