I like a place where I can take it easy, and this cozy guesthouse suited me well. It's a little old, but you can bring your own food and drinks, and there's a shared fridge outside the rooms that guests can use. There's no TV in the room, though there's one in the living room. You can catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji, and a hot spring is about a five-minute walk away. It might work for families too.
It's an easy place to stay if you mainly need somewhere to sleep, though the rooms are a bit small. There are two bathrooms, but both bathtubs are small. The family who run the place keep a comfortable distance, so it feels relaxed. The living room has toys, and you can hook up a Wii to the TV and play together. The portions are generous, perhaps a little too much for some women to finish. There's a big supermarket nearby if you get hungry. For outings, Mt. Fuji's 5th station is about an hour away, Oshino Hakkai is under 30 minutes, and Grinpa takes about an hour to reach.
Tucked away in a quiet spot, this guesthouse serves delicious food. The homemade dressing packed with vegetables was especially good!
A low-cost place to stay.
