From the terrace, the lake and Mt Fuji are close up, with beautiful views at both sunrise and sunset. Our spacious room also looked out over the mountain and lake, and had a large, traditional onsen-style layout, though the public bath is the one to use. The breakfast and dinner buffets had lots of variety. Staff even helped us recover an item I dropped during dinner. It was one of the best Mt Fuji views of my Japan trip.

Kyukamura Fuji sits on the quiet shore of Lake Tanuki, well away from the crowds. Mt Fuji looks wonderful from the room, and even the public bath has a clear, unobstructed view of the lake shore and mountain. It’s an outstanding place to get away and take in the scenery.

The buffet has a good range of food, and the staff are nice. It was very peaceful there, with fresh air and pleasant walks around Tanuki Lake. The view of Mount Fuji from the room was spectacular.

Seeing Mount Fuji straight from both our room and the onsen made this the best stay of our Japan trip.
