I went alone and found the setting peaceful and naturally beautiful. Magnificent carp drifted through the garden, and the quiet surroundings gave me a chance to soothe my soul and get away from the internet. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the tempura and homemade bamboo shoot shumai. I highly recommend the garden bath. It's been renovated, looks even nicer than the photos on the official website, and is covered, so it's comfortable in the rain. The building feels historic, but it's well maintained, the plumbing has been renovated, and the room's air conditioning was new. One thing to keep in mind is that the free Wi-Fi can be slow depending on the room, so it's not great for watching lots of videos. The cell signal isn't very good either.
