The units are quite small, so couples and families may want to keep that in mind. It’s a good fit for budget travelers or anyone wanting a bit of independence on their own. The place is close to Enoshima beach, a supermarket and several restaurants, and for the price there’s a lot packed into the amenities. It sits right beside a train line. Passing trains can shake the house at night until around 1am, so earplugs help.
The room was a good size for such a great location, and having a bike provided was a really nice extra. I’d definitely stay here again.
It’s extremely loud with the train tracks right beside it, and the interior is very small.
The owner was attentive and quick to reply, and communication was smooth and clear after I booked through AirBnb. I sent a reminder the day before asking for the check-in codes and got them around 7 or 8am on arrival day. Check-in after that went smoothly. I stayed for a week and enjoyed it. This is a safe budget option with a comfortable bed and a refurbished room, including updated furniture, blinds and utensils. There are lots of useful things: toiletries, SPF, eye masks, earplugs, kitchen utensils, a washing machine, a single hob, pots and pans. I was also allocated a bicycle for my whole stay, with a front basket. The nearest convenience store is under four minutes away by bike. On foot, the two stations and nearby convenience stores are about 10-15 minutes away. The location is right by the tracks, with trains about every 10 minutes until around midnight. It didn’t bother me, but earplugs are provided for light sleepers. Enoshima island is a 20-minute walk including the bridge, or an easy morning bike ride before the crowds. You can also walk to Kamakura. One other review mentioned the air getting dry with the AC or heater. I found the heater made things dry, but humidity rose at night when I switched it off, which was uncomfortable. I worked out a way to manage both during the long stay. At 10am sharp every day, you’ll hear the cleaning staff working. I occasionally heard other guests talking, coughing or laughing too, depending on their behavior, not the host. I’m sharing some photos from my stay.
We booked and paid for a room through Agoda and received confirmation, but the host never sent the check-in details, including the apartment number and locker code. When we arrived, nobody was there, and we couldn’t get into the accommodation. The host didn’t respond through the Agoda app, the listed email or by phone. We spent two hours in a nearby cafe messaging Agoda support to cancel the reservation, since their staff couldn’t reach the host either. Now we have to wait 30-40 days for Agoda to refund us. Don’t deal with this host.
