This may have been our favourite place in Japan. The rooms are on the small side, but lovely and done in a traditional style. We also got to use the onsen and had a really nice breakfast in the morning. The hosts were so kind, and I'm grateful we got to spend such a beautiful night here.

A lovely family runs this place, and they were helpful and full of information. On our departure day they even offered us a ride to the train station. They really go the extra mile. Highly recommend.

The rooms are simple, but the owners are lovely and kind, and speak good English. We enjoyed breakfast in a stunning room, and I had a lot of fun with the massage chair. The tricky part was the onsen setup. The baths are private rather than open to all guests, and there's no booking system, so you may wait a while if someone takes longer. There was a bit of a queue and it felt competitive to get a turn. Private bathing is nice, but being able to choose a time would help.

We spent four nights here, five people across two rooms. The owners were the highlight: they drove us to and picked us up from the station, and took us to other places on five different occasions. Bikes are available too. Breakfast is served daily from 7:30-8:30, and the hot springs are open 7-9 and 19-23. A cozy, homely place if you want to try an onsen and Japanese-style rooms.
