Fuyo No Yado

The views were amazing, and this was a great base for climbing Mt. Fuji or exploring the area. We came with a group in our own vehicle, and the friendly staff helped us book taxis for the ride up to Mt. Fuji. Easy access, a great BBQ, and a quality stay 👌.

Loved this place. It was clean and spacious, with free entry to a nearby onsen and a perfect view of Mount Fiji. I’ll be back.

We had a great time seeing Mt. Fuji from the back porch, and the resort is close to restaurants, lakes, theme parks, and local attractions. We rented a car locally, which made getting around easier, and our dedicated parking spot was handy. The place has a full kitchen, a large dining table for six, a back porch, and two bedrooms. Downstairs had two full beds, which I pushed together for my wife and me. Upstairs had floor mattresses; standard beds would have been better. There’s also a backyard BBQ, and they can provide meat and vegetables. We didn’t use it, but saw the other guests grilling. The toilet, shower area, and tub are separate. In our unit, unfortunately, the tub water wouldn’t stay hot and had to be drained after use. We were able to send our luggage to the resort, but not onward from there, so we took it to the convenience store across the street. There’s an included onsen next door, which we skipped in favor of another place with a private room and a view of Mt. Fuji. I’d definitely come back with my family. It was very clean and quiet, with lots of amenities.

From the upstairs window we could see Mt Fuji. The place had a well-equipped kitchen, an outdoor bath, roomy shared areas, and soft bedding that made for restful sleep. We chose Western-style beds downstairs, though there are Japanese-style futons upstairs too. It was a lovely, quiet, cozy place with plenty of room for my family. GPS made it a little hard to find, but aren’t all gems hard to find? :) There’s an onsen nearby if you want to relax some more. It felt pretty self-contained, and I’d highly recommend it!
