9Hotel Tenjin

The hotel’s exterior looks plain, but inside I found a bit of a hidden gem. The rooms were comfortable, with good amenities and a clever use of space that didn’t feel cramped like many Japanese hotel rooms. It’s handy for walking to some of Fukuoka’s most interesting districts, though the central station isn’t especially close if you arrive by train. Each morning, the front desk made a simple breakfast of waffles and coffee, which was a nice start to the day. There’s no washing machine, but a good coin laundry is very close. You can heat your own food in the microwave, and book a sauna. The elevator opens directly onto the street, which makes coming and going convenient. I’d recommend it. It’s a good way to stay near the action in Fukuoka without spending too much.

The staff were warm, attentive, and went out of their way to help send our luggage ahead to the next destination. It made our trip much smoother. We had a fantastic stay at 9Hotel Tenjin. The room was quiet, spotless, and beautifully designed, and having a sauna in the room was a rare treat after exploring Fukuoka. Great location and service. Definitely recommended!

I always come back feeling rested. This charming little hotel is tucked away in a quieter part of tenjin, and it was clean during our stay. The private sauna and cold pool you can book are great. A perfect stay for us, and I’d definitely return.
