The main hassle for us was luggage storage after checkout. One receptionist said we could leave our bags overnight and pick them up by 1pm the next day, but another staff member later refused, which was confusing. With limited public transport in Asahikawa, hauling bulky ski gear can be inconvenient. The rest of the stay was comfortable, especially for skiing or snowboarding. Y’s Hotel Asahikawa Ekimae is right beside Asahikawa Station, under a minute away on foot. Our Twin room had enough space to lay out wet ski clothes overnight, and the public bath was a welcome place to warm up after a day outside. Breakfast had a good selection and didn’t feel crowded. There’s also a lounge with complimentary drinks and snacks until 10pm, including hot drinks, Calpis, Minute Maid, free popsicles, hot onion soup, and manga. Ski and snowboard storage and boot dryers are handy, though there were only two dryers during our stay. Adding more would help in winter.

We stayed three nights, and the breakfast was probably the best I’d had in 15 days in Hokkaido, with plenty of variety and fresh food. The ladies in the breakfast room were especially friendly and helpful. The location is hard to beat: right beside the main train and bus station, with a big mall across the road and the walking street starting nearby. Our single room was fairly large, with a comfortable queen bed and room for a medium to large suitcase. There’s a lounge on the third floor throughout the day, plus a sento and coin laundry on the 12th. Great value for the money.

Really handy spot beside the JR station and Aeon supermarket. The room was clean, cozy, and affordable, and I liked having a lounge with free coffee and comic books to relax with.

The public bath was lovely, and breakfast had lots of good choices. The rooms are on the small side, but comfortable and very clean. I did need to ask for an extra pillow.

Our twin room with a sofa was spacious, and the snowy city view from the window felt calm and beautiful. Breakfast didn’t have a huge range, but we loved the ramen. You cook it yourself, and it was delicious. The location made getting around easy. The hotel is just outside Asahikawa station, with bus stops right outside, so it works well for exploring Asahikawa, Biei, or Furano. AEON mall is across the street, with restaurants and a supermarket, and there’s also a Lawson and cosmetic shop next to it. Reception is on the second or third floor, I can’t remember. They let us store our luggage before check-in.
