A Good Day Fukuoka Riverside

The location seemed decent, and aside from the problems, the room and stay were fine. But there was dust all over the carpet and in the corners, plus some plastic wrappers the cleaners had missed. My partner has allergies and asthma, so we contacted the hotel. They offered to bring up an air purifier and vacuum, which I appreciated, though it also felt like I was doing their work for them. One night around 10 or 11, secondhand cigarette smoke came into the room from somewhere, though I couldn't tell if it was inside or outside. I hate that smell, and it kept us from falling asleep.

The location was good, but the rest was really rough. The room wasn't clean, the unused balconies outside were very dirty, and the windows looked like they hadn't been washed in a long time. The furniture was old too: the table in the middle was peeling and made noises, and the wooden floor was scratched everywhere. Wi-Fi was incredibly slow, with a weak, unstable signal.

We liked being a little away from the busy center. The hotel is still an easy walk from the metro and local sights, and it was peaceful to come back to after a long day. Staff were really helpful, and breakfast was delicious, with both Japanese and American choices. There are free drinks in the lobby all day. The rooms have nice extras too, like a Dyson hair dryer, Nespresso machine, and Alexa. We’d be happy to stay here again when we’re in Fukuoka.

This place worked especially well for a longer stay, with enough amenities to live comfortably for days, weeks, or even months. It feels much better than a standard business hotel. The location is central without being too loud or inconvenient, and there’s a grocery store, fish market, lots of restaurants and bars, and the subway nearby. It’s also easy to catch a cab right outside. The staff can communicate with English speakers just fine and are always ready to help with requests.
